Enjoy the beauty of henna at your small event! We supply the artist and the henna, while you supply the space and the guests! Our artist will bring all she needs to create stunning, freehand designs for attendees. The use of henna is all about celebration and bringing good fortune - and who doesn't love that?! Freshly applied henna designs take about 15 minutes to be touch dry, so we suggest that henna recipients be old enough to manage this drying process without smudging their art. Larissa can offer you much advice for how to best arrange the timing of henna within the parameters of your event. Henna designs will last from 1-2 weeks, and are created with our 100% organic paste, made in-house by Larissa.

Glitter Tattoo Party
Glitter tattoos are the perfect addition to your small party event! Glitter tattoos are smudge free, waterproof and are quick to apply. The art will last from 1-5 days, and provides the wearer with a fun alternative to conventional face painting. Glitter tattoos are for the young, and young-at-heart, but we require our guests to be at least 3 years old. You supply the guests and a small space for us to set up an art station, and we will bring the fun and joy of live body art to your event! We have a wide selection of designs, and 30 colours to choose from. We follow hygienic practices and work with single use vinyl stencils, and cosmetic grade, skin-safe adhesive and glitter. Our products are latex free.

Event Entertainment
If you have a large event coming up, Dragonfly Henna would love to help keep your guests entertained! We provide custom entertainment packages for events of all shapes and sizes. Our unique services offer your guests a memorable experience and quite often, will help draw people to your event or venue. Our reputation is well established and we are known for our efficiency, friendliness with clientele, excellent artistry, hygienic skin-safe application and products, and professional behaviour onsite. We offer entertainment solutions with glitter tattoo application or henna artistry application, for events indoors or outdoors, anywhere in Atlantic Canada. Henna use, across all cultures and time, is always about celebration and bringing good fortune to the event and the recipient. Henna designs will last from 1-2 weeks, and are created with our 100% organic paste, made in-house by Larissa. Glitter tattoos will last from 1-5 days and offers an alternative (or add-on) to having a face painter - since glitter tattoos are often faster to apply and are smudge / water proof. Henna is best for guests of about 8 years and older, and the minimum age for glitter tattoos with our services is 3 years old.

In-Studio Appointments
In-studio henna appointments are available in our warm and welcoming space, located on Fredericton's beautiful northside. Appointments can be for one person, or for a small group of up to 5 guests, and must be pre-booked (no drop-ins). We would be happy to advise you on the appropriate time you might need for your desired art. For best results, you should arrive with clean, lotion free skin. You are welcome to bring beverages of your choice, however smoking is prohibited anywhere on the property. If you are interested in a booking, please send us an email, text or call. To avoid disappointment, it is suggested you book your appointment at least 48 hours beforehand. Henna designs will last from 1-2 weeks, and are created with our 100% organic paste, made in-house by Larissa.

Henna for Drum Art
On occasion, Larissa is available to create drum designs with natural henna on untreated, natural hide drumskins. These commissioned pieces can take quite some time to create, depending on several factors (with the main one being the challenge of finding an inspiration window!). Commissioned drums are unique, one-of-a-kind, bespoke pieces of art. If you have interest in having me create something, drop me a message.
Design on your own natural hide with our exquisite henna paste! You will want to be sure to order paste without any essential oils, or you can also order powder and mix your own henna for your drum. Items can be found in our shop.

Henna Classes or Workshops
Larissa has been demonstrating or teaching about the artistry of henna since 2003. Her approach to teaching is inclusive and accommodates all skill levels, from enthusiasts or hobbyists to professional artists looking to gain skills and expand their range. Classes and workshops are highly customizable and Larissa can create a curriculum to meet your needs, time and budget. In addition, all supplies for classes are created in-house, for optimal stain results and safety for skin application. Topics that can be included in workshop packages: history and cultural roots of henna; the science of henna; mixology of paste; making and using applicators; how to identify chemical imposter henna vs natural henna; proper hygiene for personal services of henna application; application techniques and basic design; advanced techniques, effects and design elements; aftercare for best results and longevity of stain; ergonomics and wellness for the henna artist. Under certain circumstances, Larissa is also available as a consultant to offer advice for how to create and sustain a flourishing small business as a henna artist. Larissa has been a successful artist entrepreneur boss-lady since 2003, and continues to watch for opportunities for growth. Larissa has taught at several international henna / body art events as well as having put together specific programming for classrooms in secondary and post-secondary institutions.
